Cookie Policy

This page explains what cookies and similar technologies we use on scrimfolio.com, what each one does, and how you stay in control. Last updated: January 2026.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They let a site remember things between pages and visits — such as your privacy choices — and they can help measure how a site is used. Similar technologies, like local storage, work in a comparable way; we treat them under the same rules described here.

Consent comes first

We use Google Consent Mode v2 with a denied-by-default setting. That means when you first arrive, no analytics or advertising cookies are set. They only load after you choose “Accept all” or opt in through “Customise” in our cookie banner. If you choose “Reject non-essential”, only strictly necessary cookies are used. We remember your decision in your browser’s local storage (key scrimfolio_consent_v1) so we do not ask you again on every visit.

Categories of cookies we use

1. Strictly necessary

These are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off. They include the storage of your consent choice and basic security and load-balancing functions. They do not track you across other sites.

2. Analytics (optional)

If you consent, we use analytics (such as Google Analytics) to understand which pages are read and how the site performs, in aggregate and anonymised form. This helps us improve our content. These cookies load only after consent.

3. Advertising (optional)

If you consent, we use advertising cookies for Google Ads conversion measurement and remarketing, so we can understand the effectiveness of our campaigns. These cookies also load only after consent, and never before.

Managing your choices

You can change your mind at any time. Clearing site data or the scrimfolio_consent_v1 value in your browser’s storage will make the consent banner appear again, letting you choose afresh. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working. Most browsers explain how to do this in their help pages.
